Charles DeRamus

Charles DeRamus is principal double bass of the Royal Swedish Opera (Kungliga Operan), teaches at the University of Gothenburg Academy of Music and Drama in Sweden, and annually performs at the Grand Teton Music Festival in Wyoming (USA). He was previously a member of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, principal double bass of NorrlandsOperan, and is a frequent guest principal of numerous Scandinavian orchestras. Charles is originally from the United States and has performed, recorded, and toured with major orchestras and festivals around the world. In addition to giving masterclasses in Sweden, Norway, England, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Japan, China, and the United States, Charles teaches regularly at numerous chamber music and orchestral festivals in Europe, Asia, and North America. He has also composed three children?s chamber music concerts, which have been translated and performed in several different countries around the world.
